"After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, and so on - have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear - what remains? Nature remains" Walt Whitman

Gary is an avid outdoor enthusiast and has been interested in wildlife from a very young age. As a certified Master Naturalist, Master Wildlife Conservationist and National Park Service Ranger he has led and narrated eco tours as well as taught adults and children alike about the coastal ecosystem of Florida, the wildlife of New England’s woods and the geology and wildlife of the Yellowstone Ecosystem. In his travels throughout North and Central America he has concentrated on digitally documenting a variety of wildlife species. A self-taught photographer and artist, his travels have taken him from the far reaches of Alaska, across the Canadian tundra, through the wilderness of Montana and Wyoming, southward to the shores of the Sea of Cortez, through the Great Divide and deep woods of Maine. His passion for photography and art combined with his wildlife background results in stunning wildlife images and wood burnings. Gary is affiliated with a variety of professional organizations and has received various awards. He was most recently an Semi-Finalist in the Windland Smith Rice International Nature Competition associated with Natures Best Photography Magazine and chosen as a contributor to a new National Geographic Book entitled Sublime Nature.

Casey Anderson, Naturalist and Host of Nat Geo Wild TV says of Gary's work...."Seriously Amazing!

I enjoyed your works that are shared here. I am person who has a great interest in photography, especially in wildlife segment. Some of these shots are so precious that I can easily guess the hardship you would have taken to accomplish it.

Hi Gary, I don't know if you remember me. I was a friend of Lori's and a year behind you in school. I was talking to her recently via FB and she told me about your website. It is great. I was born in Montana so have been to Yellowstone and Glacier several times. My Uncle used to live in Polson, MT on Flathead Lake, by the Mission Range. Great photos my friend and kudos to you.

Hi Gary:

I met you a few times while in Yellowstone this past May. You'll probably remember if I told you we were at Souh Rim hoping to catch a shot of the wolves. My husband, you, Heidi and I were talking and looking at her Aurora Borealis calendar.

You were pretty humble about your photography but of all the business cards I received, I really have to say that your photography struck my as one of best. It's beautiful and your Aurora Borealis photo is beautiful, nothing wrong with that picture at all. Congrats on doing a great job. Keep up the great work Ranger Gary.
